MHP’s robotic surgery program is recognized as one of the most advanced in the region. With highly skilled surgeons and the state-of-the-art Da Vinci 5 robotic platform, you can expect top-tier, compassionate care from our expert team.
How does robotic surgery work?
In a typical robotic surgery procedure, your surgeon will make a few small
incisions, tailored to the specific surgery being performed. The surgical
team will then position four robotic arms, each equipped with tiny surgical
tools and a 3D camera (endoscope), through these incisions.
Once everything is set up, your surgeon will sit at a nearby console in the operating room, viewing a high-definition, magnified, real-time 3D image of the inside of your body. Using hand and foot controls, the surgeon directs the robotic arms to perform the procedure. The instruments offer the same range of motion as a human hand, but with even greater precision and dexterity.
What are the benefits of robotic surgery?
Robotic surgery offers numerous benefits, including:
- Increased precision, flexibility, and accuracy due to the high-definition camera and specialized surgical tools.
- Less blood loss and pain during the procedure.
- Smaller scars due to the minimally invasive incisions.
- Reduced risk of complications and infections.
- Shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery, with many patients returning to normal activities faster.
- Risks: As with any surgery, robotic surgery does carry some risks, including the small chance of infection or other complications, similar to traditional open surgery.
