Total Solar Eclipse- April 8, 2024: Pack your patience and fill your tank!
Here are tips to help you prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime event:
Bring Eclipse Glasses: Safety first! Protect your eyes from permanent damage with eclipse glasses! Regular sunglasses won't do the trick, so make sure you've got the right gear.
Plan Ahead for Travel: Traffic might get a bit crazy. Plan your journey with extra time, have a full take of gas, and fully charge your phone. Also prepare an emergency kit with snacks, water, first aid items, and other necessities in case you get stranded.
Stay Safe on the Road: Remember, it's not safe to pull over on the side of the road to view the eclipse. Find a safe parking spot beforehand and avoid parking on private property without permission.
Emergency Preparedness: Be sure to purchase groceries, medications, and other necessities several days before the eclipse as stores and pharmacies might run out of products.
Be Weather-Ready: Pack sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and rain gear, as the weather can change quickly.
Safety First: Never leave children or pets alone in closed vehicles, and keep in mind that cell service might be spotty due to high usage. Have a plan in place to meet up with friends or family in case you get separated. Make sure children have your contact information and identification.
Enjoy the eclipse safely and have a blast watching nature's spectacular show!
