MHP Incident Command Update

General update: Shelby County’s current positivity rate decreased drastically to 8.7% and Indiana’s positivity rate equally decreased to 8.9%.
Inpatient unit: Forty of our 40 beds are full on our 3rd-floor inpatient unit.
- We currently have 8 critical care patients on the 3rd floor, and 1 (13%) of those patients is due to Covid. Our lone Covid-related critical care patient is unvaccinated.
- We have one patient on a ventilator and that patient is non-Covid. We have six additional patients who are on Vapotherm or BiPap, and one of those patients is unvaccinated.
- Five (13%) of our total inpatients are Covid positive, and none of them are vaccinated.

Visitation Restrictions:
- All visitors must be 18 or older.
- All visitors must follow all COVID-19 protocols while on site-screen negative, wear a mask at all times, practice hand hygiene and maintain social distancing.
Inpatient:
- Visitors must be 18 years or older
- Visitors must wear masks at all times.
- Up to two visitors are allowed at one time for COVID negative patients.
- One designated visitor for the entire hospitalization is allowed for COVID positive/presumed positive patients, and they can only enter once per day. Additional PPE is required during entire visit.
- Waiting room will be closed. Visitors that are waiting to see patients must wait outside of the hospital. No overnight visitors allowed.
- Visitors of COVID 19 positive/presumed positive patients must sign a waiver to enter.
- If COVID 19 positive/presumed positive patients are receiving aerosolized respiratory treatments, then no visitor(s) allowed.
- End-of-life patients may have additional visitor(s) on a case-by-case basis.
Emergency Department:
- Up to two visitors are allowed, throughout the entire stay.
- End-of-life patients may have additional visitors on a case-by-case basis.
Ambulatory Care Center(ACC)/Pediatrics:
- Up to two visitors are allowed, throughout the entire stay.
- For COVID infusion patients, one visitor allowed in room.
Maternity Care:
- Visitors must be 18 years or older (with the exception of the significant other/father of the baby).
- Visitors must wear masks at all times.
- Up to two visitors are allowed. Support person is considered as one visitor. Only one visitor may stay overnight with mom/baby and antepartum.
- Two designated visitors are allowed to remain for delivery.
- Waiting room will be closed. Visitors waiting to see patients must wait outside of the hospital.
- Patients who are COVID-19 positive or presumed positive - one designated support person allowed throughout stay and additional PPE is required.
Surgery:
- Up to two designated visitors are allowed, throughout the entire stay.
- All visitors will be screened before entering.
Urgent Care and walk-in volumes: MHP Priority Care is averaging 30-35 walk-in patients per day. MHP Family & Internal Medicine and MHP Pediatrics are both averaging 30-35 walk-in patients per day. All offices are experiencing lower than normal walk-in volumes for this time of year.
Emergency Department: The Emergency Department is averaging 66 patients per day, which is a normal volume for this time of year. We do not have any infusions scheduled for today thus far.
