INCIDENT COMMAND UPDATE

Covid testing positivity rate: Indiana’s Covid positivity rate is at 10.7% and Shelby County’s positivity rate is 10.7%. Shelby County’s positivity rate represents a slight decrease in the positivity rate compared to the last few weeks.

MHP Priority Care and MHP Pediatrics walk-ins: Walk-in volumes at both locations have decreased compared to the last several weeks and continue to slowly trend downward.

Emergency Department: The Emergency Department saw an average of sixty-three patients per day last week, which is approximately our pre-pandemic volume.

Inpatient unit: Following the outpatient trend of decreasing volumes, our inpatient volumes are also decreasing. Twenty-nine of our forty beds are occupied on our 3rd floor inpatient unit.

• We had an additional death of an unvaccinated patient due to Covid since September 25th.
• We currently have seven critical care patients on the 3rd floor and five of those patients are due to Covid. Of the five Covid-related critical care patients, all five are unvaccinated.
• We have five patients on ventilators, plus three additional patients that are on Vapotherm or BiPap. Four of our five ventilated patients are due to Covid and none of those patients are vaccinated.
• Twelve of our inpatients are Covid positive and nine (75%) of those inpatients are unvaccinated.
