INCIDENT COMMAND UPDATE

Covid testing positivity rate: Indiana’s Covid positivity rate is at 11% and Shelby County’s positivity rate is 12.1%. Both represent small decreases in the positivity rate compared to the last few weeks.

MHP Priority Care and MHP Pediatrics walk-ins: Walk-in volumes at both locations have decreased modestly compared to the last several weeks.

Emergency Department: The Emergency Department saw sixty-five patients yesterday, which is closer to our pre-pandemic norms than we have been in weeks.

Inpatient unit: While our Emergency Department and outpatient volumes have shown a slight decrease in the last 48 hours, our inpatient units remain at critical capacity. Thirty-eight of our forty beds are occupied on our 3rd floor inpatient unit.

• We had an additional death of an unvaccinated patient due to Covid since Friday.
• We currently have twelve critical care patients on the 3rd floor and seven of those patients are due to Covid. Of the seven Covid-related critical care patients, six are unvaccinated.
• We have five patients on ventilators, plus seven additional patients that are on Vapotherm or BiPap. Three of our five ventilated patients are due to Covid and none of those patients are vaccinated.
• Sixteen of our inpatients are Covid positive and eleven (69%) of those inpatients have not been vaccinated.
