INCIDENT COMMAND UPDATE
Covid testing positivity rate: Indiana’s Covid positivity rate is at 9.5% and Shelby County’s positivity rate is 8.2%. Shelby County’s positivity rate represents a slight decrease in the positivity rate compared to the last few weeks. Statewide Covid hospitalizations and Covid positivity rates continue to slowly decline.
MHP Priority Care and MHP Pediatrics walk-ins: Walk-in volumes at both locations have remained steady. We are averaging 60+ urgent care patients per day at Priority Care and 30-40 patients per day at Family and Internal Medicine walk-ins. MHP Pediatrics is seeing approximately 40-60 walk-in patients per day.
Emergency Department: The Emergency Department saw an average of sixty-four patients per day last week, which is approximately our pre-pandemic volume. This represents a decrease of 7-9 patients per day on average compared to September’s volumes.
Inpatient unit: Following the outpatient and Emergency Department trend of decreasing volumes, our inpatient volumes are also slowly decreasing. Twenty-eight of our forty beds are occupied on our 3rd floor inpatient unit.
- We currently have nine critical care patients on the 3rd floor and seven of those patients are due to Covid. Of the seven Covid-related critical care patients, six are unvaccinated.
- We have six patients on ventilators, plus two additional patients that are on Vapotherm or BiPap. Five of our six ventilated patients are due to Covid and one of those patients is vaccinated.
- Ten of our inpatients are Covid positive and seven of those inpatients are unvaccinated.
