Carrying a bag of gifts and a sealed envelope, a special visitor named Byron Baldwin greeted each and every caretaker in the oncology department while everyone gathered for an unexpected presentation. The arrival of the one-and-only Dr. Cole brought tears to his eyes as he shared his gratitude for the care his late aunt, Marilyn Joyce Rumpel, received from her and everyone at Benesse. Each of them smiled at the mention of her name and shared how privileged they felt to care for one of their spunkiest patients. You could feel the love, appreciation, and joy she brought to everyone in each of their stories.
After sharing these heart-felt tales of her treatment days, Byron decided to share even more with the oncology department -
an incredibly generous donation for the MHP Oncology department created by Joyce in her estate plan. This gift established the Marilyn Joyce Rumpel fund at the MHP Foundation. This estate gift not only shows staff that their work is appreciated. It also creates a legacy of generosity, specialized cancer care, and Joyce's personality that the staff loved so much. Her fund will favorably influence the future of healthcare in the oncology department for years to come.
These moments always leave a special mark on our hearts. The Foundation, MHP Oncology, and all future cancer patients at MHP thank Marilyn Joyce Rumpel for her generosity and her legacy.
